The Road to Mainstream: Our School Readiness Program
Our one-year school readiness program is specially designed for children with special needs for a successful transition into mainstream. This program aimed to help children with mild Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and developmental delays
Is Our Program Right for Your Child?
This program is suitable for children who thrive in one-on-one learning environments but face challenges when in group learning environment. These challenges often manifest as an inability to remain seated, difficulties in sustaining attention, struggles with group instructions and rules, challenges in self-control, always need one-to-one reminds or assistance from teacher, and difficulties in independently following schedules.
Furthermore, these children frequently encounter difficulties when participating in group activities. Some parents have noted instances where their child may stand on the sidelines during group events, exhibit reluctance to participate, or struggle to follow through the group activity without support from teacher. Additionally, some parents have observed that their child may struggle to play along with peers. And face difficulties in sharing and taking turns with peers.
These challenges often serve as significant barriers preventing children with special needs from transitioning to primary school. Parents report that their child could perform well academically. But they struggle to adapt to group learning environments. Due to deficits in self-regulation, social skills, and communication skills, which are crucial for their successful integration into the school community.
